Backcountry has teamed up with Matt Haydock of Rapid development in an effort to continue the development of safety awareness in the UK packrafting scene. As packrafters, we don’t have to re-invent the wheel (boat!) as there is already a well-rounded and fully developed pathway for paddlers to access information and training. With Matt’s expert help we’re tapping into years of knowledge and experience, and letting our wonderful sport grow in a safe and logical manner. Using the wide range of world-class river venues within striking distance of BackcountryScot HQ, Matt will hlep you to cement the fundamentals of river reading and paddling, while developing a technical and tactical awareness of how to have amazing, safe river adventures.
